Specialist in legal aspects of construction, development, tendering and management of anything that requires to be built or constructed. Such as real estate, wind parks, solar parks, infrastructure, installations and corresponding transactions (purchase, renting, lease, rights in rem, contracting, partnerships, D&B, EPC, DBMFO etc.), financing and business structures.

Ronald’s career has seen him occupy a number of very different positions. The experience he has gained on the way he now uses at HYS & Co. Advocaten for every client. A graduate in Dutch and International law, he started at Gemeentelijk Grondbedrijf Amsterdam in 1995. First as a lawyer and then as deputy head of the legal department. In 2000, he began a postdoctorate course in Real Estate and Investment Studies at the Amsterdam School of Real Estate. In 2002, he was awarded the degree in “Master of Real Estate” (MRE). In the intervening period, he became a lawyer in 2001 and then in 2004 a partner at Lexence. The corporate lawyer in him however was reawakened when he became head of Legal Affairs at TCN, at the time one of the most high-profile investor developers and active in large areas of Europe. Following the bankruptcy of TCN at the end of 2012, together with others, he set up HYS & Co. Advocaten.
In his free time, he takes part in cycle races, plays his electric guitars and enjoys spending as much time as possible with family and pets.
In the jurisdictions register of the Netherlands Bar Association, Ronald has entered the following principal and sub fields of law:
- Real estate law (building law and leasehold)
- Contract law
On account of this registration, every year he is obliged to attain ten training points in each registered principal field of law in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association.
